If the FCC implements its plan there will no longer be public hearings

Scott McCollough, Esq. and Camilla Rees, MBA To Discuss the FCC Effort to l Strip ALL Local Power Over and Public Participation in Cell Tower and Antenna Placement.

An enormous power grab is before us. The FCC intends to take away almost all local control over and resident participation in cell tower and antenna placement.

If the FCC implements its plan there will no longer be public hearings, or public comment periods, about proposed cell tower and antenna installations; no notifications re. installations; no reviewswhatsoever, including environmental reviews; no required setbacks for the infrastructure; no discussion on how high, or where, or how many antennas or what they should look like; no influence at all on aesthetics grounds; and no need to prove there is a need for the antennas due to a 'gap in service'. Local officials would be barred from hiring experts to assess radiation safety, forced to take industry's word. Local officials would be utterly powerless, and forced to approve applications despite community objection.

The telecom industry's captured regulator, the FCC, wants to force towers in quiet residential streets, on playgrounds, over classrooms, scenic hilltops, pastoral farmland, and in historic districts — and your community will have no say. Families could see their biggest investment — their homes — lose value overnight, with no compensation and no recourse.

There is a COUP happening before our eyes in support of the telecom industry's 'antenna densification' ambitions to expand centralized surveillance and control. They are upset that local authorities are listening to their constituents hat do not want towers near homes and schools and exercising their traditional zoning authority to determine whether a tower is necessary and where this infrastructure does and does not belong.

The FCC aims to obliterate local choice and self-determination, and it could happen fast. Note, rights to influence infrastructure siting on health and environmental grounds were federally preempted in 1996 by Section 704 of the Telecom Act of 1996. Dismantling Section 704 and restoring local and individual rights is the focus of 704 No MoreTM. The FCC's new proposed rules are in direct conflict with 704 No MoreTM objectives, which seek to restore local control.

Join us Monday at 6:00 p.m. Eastern for 1) an update on 704 No MoreTM, the growing collaborative of 100+ health and environmental advocacy groups working to reverse Section 704 of the Telecom Act, and 2) for an in-depth discussion about the FCC’s effort to give the wireless companies complete freedom to do whatever they want and the urgent time line we are on to fight back.

Beyond enabling more surveillance and control, and saturating our neighborhoods in more and more biologically destructive radiation, if the FCC power grab succeeds it will set a terrible precedent by eliminating the local rights that are at the heart of Democracy.

VIP - Telecom Antenna Blitzkrieg is Happening. Listen Up! Everyone needs to know about the FCC's new proposed rules that would take away literally all local control over cell towers and antennas. This is a COUP happening before our eyes to expand centralized surveillance and control. If these new rules are passed, there will no longer be public comment periods about proposed cell tower and antenna installations; no notifications re. installations; no reviews whatsoever; no required setbacks for the infrastructure; no discussion on how high, or where, or how many antennas or what they should look like; no influence on aesthetics grounds; and no need to prove there is a need for the antennas due to a 'gap in service'. The FCC aims to obliterate all local rights that local governments still have (beyond rights to oppose towers and antennas on health and environmental grounds which had already been federally preempted in 1996 (and which we are presently seeking to dismantle in www.704NoMore.org).

Due to 1) the industry's long-planned intention for rapid 'antenna densification' to enable the envisioned centralized surveillance state, 2) many recent successes local communities have had fighting towers and antenna on aesthetics, zoning issues, etc., and 3) due to the new "704 No More" (www.704NoMore.org) national collaborative effort to dismantle Section 704 of the telecom act (the federal preemption which prevents communities from making decisions on health or environmental grounds), the FCC--the telecom industry's captured regulator--is now ramping up control efforts trying to pass these new rules that will obliterate ALL local powers over cell towers and antennas. No City Councils or County Commissioners will be able to have any impact. You will have no voice. And I am told we can expect antennas going up every 750 feet---all throughout our neighborhoods. This is NOT OUR AMERICA!

Please become engaged. We need to get very, very loud on this quickly. Contact your legislators, sign Children's Health Defense's Petition here - https://childrenshealthdefense.org/.../fcc-moves-to.../ -and share this information (including the video of Reinette Senum, former Mayor of Nevada City, CA, below). Share with all of your contacts.

This is an urgent issue to protect local rights from federal overreach. As Reinette Senum explains, beyond enabling more surveillance and control, and saturating our neighborhoods in more and more biologically destructive radiation, if passed the new rules set a terrible precedent--opening the floodgates for other industries to seek the same centralized control, eliminating local authority, the foundation of Democracy.

Thanks for getting involved. We need you. This has been called a 'hill to die on'. If I can answer any questions or if you would like to support the www.704NoMore.org activism, including fighting these outrageous new proposed FCC rules, please be in touch or donate at https://www.704nomore.org/donate.

Time is very short. Thank you for your help.

See the Proposed Rules in Docket 25-276 - misleadingly called “Build America: Eliminating Barriers to Wireless Deployments.” This initiative is not about “building America” — it is about stripping away local rights, eliminating public participation, and giving the wireless industry near-total control over the placement of cell towers.
