Speaking at a conference in Singapore, Secretary of Defense Pete Hegseth swore that the U.S. would defend Taiwan should China attempt to 'conquer' the island. (The Daily Beast, May 31, 2025)
U.S. Vice President J.D. Vance said the war between India and Pakistan will be "none of our business." (Fox News: May 9, 2025)
The U.S. is better off ending its 'forever wars' overseas in places like Ukraine, Syria, Yemen, and Palestine. Why?
* The US spent trillions on those foreign wars, which add significantly to the national debt.
* Ending foreign war reduces overseas military commitments.
* Instead of handing out our hard-earned tax dollars to Israel and Ukraine, the money should be used at home to help our 40,000 homeless veterans.
* There will be money to help the 45,000 Americans who otherwise will die every year from lack of access to health care because they can't afford it.
* There will be no need to cut school lunch programs for children, which would impact more than 280,000 kids in the state of Ohio alone.
* Americans living or traveling overseas will feel safer and more welcome.
* No one will be chanting "Death to America!" abroad.
* No one will be burning the U.S. flag overseas anymore in protest
* Since "charity begins at home," this is what 'America First' should be.
After all, President Trump promised during the campaign to end foreign wars (including the Israeli war on Gaza), secure the border, and fix the trade deficit.
